About the Movie

Nick Gant (Chris Evans) is hiding out in Hong Kong, trying to avoid becoming another pawn in the psychic wars being waged by supernatural intelligence agencies like The Division. The Division, its Chinese counterpart and similar clandestine operations around the world, are recruiting the psychically gifted to wage international warfare on a whole new level. Nick has been low priority since he seemingly lost his telekinetic powers as a boy – after Division agents killed his father. Now he's back on their radar after a young clairvoyant girl, Cassie (Dakota Fanning), turns up on his doorstep, claiming to have a vision of their future. The trouble is, the future keeps changing. And if Division agent Henry Carver (Djimon Hounsou) and his men catch up to them, their future will come to an abrupt end.

Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: A silly movie that is partially engrossing and plenty convoluted. – Claudia Puig, USA Today, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: There are many problems with Push, and most are the usual boring things: unnecessary plot loops; long, dumb musical interludes; a charmless script; and ostentatious action sequences in which the only person excited is the cameraman. – Mick LaSalle, San Francisco Chronicle, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: Push has vibrant cinematography and decent acting, but I'm blasted if I know what it's about. – Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: Belle... is blank as a page, and the intended romantic chemistry between her and Evans is never in evidence. – Christopher Orr, The New Republic, Jun 24, 2010

PUSH was ripped off by Heroes!

Yeah, you read it here. I read the original Push script in 2004, long before Heroes was even written. It was a hit script that got rewritten by the "oh so intelligent" Hollywood machine. But even still, Push is pretty goo as a move despite some odd direction and casting choices.

Very Good

it may be rated PG-13 but I recomend it for anybody who likes actiony movies like Superman or Spiderman. I really enjoyed it but I think that Dakota Fanning was playing a role a little too old for her. She actuallly cussed! I'm going to grade the movie on its performance. A is the best. F is the worst. Action-- A Romance-- B Violance-- B+ Drama-- A- Super powers-- A+ :D Well, there you have it. This movie is on average 4 stars. I think even adults would like it!! YOU NEED TO BUY IT NOW!!!!!!!

Exceeded Expectations!

This movie, as well as a great deal of others, is vastly over-criticized. When I first saw the trailer for this movie I thought it would be like Jumper: attractive, but dissapointing due to a weak storyline. However, when I actually watched the movie, it was fabulous! The story was twisted enough to keep almost anyone guessing exactly what was about to happen but predictable enough to not lose the viewers. I was surprised by Dakota Fanning, who did a fantastic job in her role. This movie is great for anyone who likes Heroes, X-Men, and other super-hero movies and shows. This movie IS NOT just a cheap knockoff of any other movie; especially not Heroes. It is one of the many super-human stories, but is also very original in its own way. Well worth the money to rent or even to own! I would watch this movie again and again! Also, I would like to see ANY of the many overly-critical reviewers do a better job. No one should criticize (unless they are movie makers themselves) the making of the movie or the actors chosen for the film. Making a movie is MUCH more difficult than most viewers realize (even those who think they know what is going on behind the scenes). So FANTASTIC JOB to all those who made the movie!
