Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: There's an ugly, jittery beauty to "Pusher," a very fine British redo of a 1996 Danish movie of the same title. – Manohla Dargis, New York Times, Oct 25, 2012

Fresh: Much glossier, more bright-lights-big-city, and less jolting than the gritty 1996 original. – Lisa Schwarzbaum, Entertainment Weekly, Oct 24, 2012

Rotten: If Refn made Pusher, then Prieto sets out to make Pushest. – Peter Debruge, Variety, Oct 22, 2012

Rotten: The remake undercuts most everything that made the original distinctive, its tangy, pungent sense of low-lifes and their environment swept away for a glam, stylized world. – Mark Olsen, Los Angeles Times, Oct 25, 2012

Have heard great things about the original and this completely exceeded my expectations. Gritty, tense, and cool throughout. I saw the guy who plays Milo at Fantastic Fest this past weekend and he's even crazier in person. Can't wait for them to do 2 and 3!

Solid Remake

I'm a huge fan of the original PUSHER trilogy and I'm puzzled as to why this remake is necessary. Don't get me wrong, it's still a quality film that stays true to the story and it does give Zlatko Buric a chance to reprise his memorable role as Milo, but other than that, it lacks the grit that set the original apart. To use a relevant analogy, this movie is to methadone as the '96 original is to heroine. It's still a very good film well worth the price to see it early, just make sure to seek out the original if you thought this one was good.

Garbage re-production of "DRIVE"

This movie blows! Can't these directors/writers come up with their own ideas? This movie was a total copy of the film "DRIVE", which was 3x better. I pray people don't waste their time and money when this one actually hits the theatres.
