Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: To anyone who doesn't share the camera's adoration, this sort of behavior becomes so comic that Rambo turns into something of a camp classic.
Rotten: A thoroughly unpleasant project, quite apart from its creepy populist posturing (Stallone seemed determined to become the Huey Long of the movies).
Rotten: The body count is rising, Sly's pecs are blowing up, and Rambo himself is becoming more of a brand-name than a character, a mascot for masochism and murderous self-assertion.
Al Pacino, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Sylvester Stallone ...are the three best actors ever born. And in each of their primes, we witnessed a man bear his soul for us; a man make his mark for us...! And throughout all our glory we still look back and remember the people that they lived as in our heads, and the memory of devotion that galloped into our hearts. Do yourself a favor and watch some real entertainment.
