About the Movie

REINCARNATED documents the life and career of Calvin Broadus Jr, from his days as a young hustler in Long Beach, to his ascent to international icon Snoop Dogg - through the ups and downs, including the loss of his best friends Tupac and Nate Dogg. Snoop's life has always attracted controversy, though perhaps never more so than after his recent decision to reinvent himself as Snoop Lion. During a trip to Jamaica to record a new reggae-influenced album with Major Lazer, Snoop immerses himself in Jamaican culture, from the backstreets of the crime-ridden Tivoli Gardens to the secret marijuana farms of the Blue Mountains. But it is during an epic baptism from high priests of the Nyabinghi Rastafarian Order that Snoop finds the ultimate high.

Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: Snoop has certainly tempered his worldview, but enlightenment isn't as evident here as much as a woozy weariness, perhaps a long-term byproduct of being very, very stoned. – Andy Webster, New York Times, Mar 14, 2013

Rotten: The film is as lightweight as the ganja-puffing is plentiful, little more than a vanity project that allows its subject to wax philosophical on his past triumphs, tragedies, and spiritual development ... – Nick Schager, Village Voice, Mar 12, 2013

Rotten: Snoop's involvement as a producer does a disservice to the film. Was there anyone behind the scenes with veto power? – Peter Hartlaub, San Francisco Chronicle, Mar 14, 2013

Rotten: If you're a sober fan of Snoop Dogg's rap songs, as I am, you're in trouble. – Odie Henderson, Chicago Sun-Times, Mar 14, 2013

A True Mans Journey

This is a good movie. I really wasn't sure what I was going to see. Snoop gives the story of a lot of people like him and me who have lived a certain type of life out of necessity and got through it. When you live like that you end up at a certain point where its not enough anymore..A lot of you reading this might not think its a big deal..because KNOWLEDGE was never withheld from you so you never had to live a certain way. When it becomes clear that everything you know and have been told is a lie and that your friends are dying because of start to feel a certain way. I personally feel any MAN will respect this story..boys will try to say something funny.
