Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: The third installment in the video-game-derived series of films is not exactly dull but never interesting either. – Matt Zoller Seitz, New York Times, Jul 16, 2008

Rotten: Resident Evil: Extinction plays like a flabby middle chapter, full of nerdy details but fraudulently short on the ruined Vegas-scape that ads have been promising. – Scott Brown, Entertainment Weekly, Jul 7, 2010

Rotten: It's all so much more fun when you're the one with the controller, telling the heroes what to do: Watching this stuff unfold onscreen is like sitting by while someone plays your video games without you. – Erin Meister, Boston Globe, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: The action is not so much bloody as bloody monotonous. – Jack Mathews, New York Daily News, Jun 24, 2010

make it buyable

this is a great movie but we want to buy it and the same with the other resident evils

Okay this is good...

They have the third now what about Resident Evil Apocalypse, Resident evil. And I do want to buy them so... ya know. Please.

I hate horror movies and I don't like zombie movies either but...

I watched the first Resident Evil movie and at the beginning I said to myself: what a waste of time and money. Then, after around 20 minutes, I got addicted. I liked the first movie from this trilogy a lot but the second part was even better in my opinion. This third movie reminded me of Mad Max first and yes, it felt cheap. Then again...I got addicted to this movie and the fantastic Mila Jovovich who seems to be perfect for this role. Don't get me wrong, as a female, I actually like Ali Larter more(she plays a role in this movie too) but I think that Mila Jovovich is perfect for this role. Can't wait for the fourth part...would love to see it taking place in Tokyo where this movie ended. Why no 5 stars then? Well, instead of creating a four hour movie to cover the whole possible story line, the makers of this trilogy tried to cash in on three seperate movies and I actually don't like this. Each party ended somehow with an "unfinished business" and I don't like open endings too much. From an action point of view, this movie is a first rate action blockbuster.
