About the Movie

The Umbrella Corporation's deadly T-virus continues to ravage the Earth, transforming the global population into legions of the flesh eating Undead. The human race's last and only hope, Alice (Milla Jovovich), awakens in the heart of Umbrella's most clandestine operations facility and unveils more of her mysterious past as she delves further into the complex. Without a safe haven, Alice continues to hunt those responsible for the outbreak; a chase that takes her from Tokyo to New York, Washington DC, and Moscow, culminating in a mind-blowing revelation that will force her to rethink everything that she once thought to be true. Aided by newfound allies and familiar friends, Alice must fight to survive long enough to escape a hostile world on the brink of oblivion. The countdown has begun.

Resident Evil: Retribution is by far the best film in the franchise. I felt that the series took a strong turn for the better when Resident Evil: Afterlife came out. Retribution simply proves that my feeling about this franchise weren't wrong. I dont understand why so many people don't like this film, or the franchise for that matter... COME ON people!!!! It's a video game turned movie franchise, who said it was going to be the best? Apart from Silent Hill, it's the best video game adaption out there. The least you could do is try to have a good time while watching it. Screw the critics, they're not right about everything you know.... Anyways, for those of you who did like this film and for those who love the franchise, I urge you to buy this film. I know I'll enjoy owning this film as much as I enjoyed watching it in theaters, and I know you will too.

Much like the similarly themed "Underworld" franchise, the "Resident Evil" films have always been an entertaining guilty pleasure of mine. It isn't so much that I enjoy them simply due to the fact that they're action-packed and visually fun to watch, but also because of the unintentionally humorous elements that make each movie so unique in their own ridiculous way. From the outrageously over-the-top fight scenes to the hilariously god-awful lines of dialogue, this latest addition to the saga may just be the most bizarre film Paul W.S. Anderson has directed yet. Yes, "Retribution" still has a relatively predictable story, and the special effects aren't often as strong as they should be, but it's the overall journey that's really worth the price of admission. Milla Jovovich once again knocks it out of the park as the butt-kicking zombie killer Alice. Her character may have the bland personality of a moth, but the mind-blowing stunts she so effortlessly pulls off speak for themselves. Michelle Rodriguez also makes a welcome return as Rain, you know, from the first "Resident Evil" flick. Only this time, she's back from the dead as two clones: one good and one bad. What a twist! And as for the rest of the cast, no one else really stands out. There's a little deaf girl that sticks by Alice for the majority of the film, but she doesn't exactly leave much of an impact. Sienna Guillory, Boris Kodjoe, and Shawn Roberts are also easily forgettable. Heck, I can't even remember who they played. In the end, it's the hyper-stylized action sequences that save this movie, and for the most part, they're far from disappointing. The only huge downside to "Retribution" is the screenplay, which is so lazily written and poorly executed that it ultimately adds nothing to the integral storyline. But I digress. Although this latest installment in the saga doesn't quite reach the same heights as the first two films, it's still a major improvement over "Extinction" and "Afterlife". It may not be the most captivating or coherent action flick you'll see this year, but if you genuinely enjoyed the previous four movies (or if you just wanna kick back and turn your brain off for about an hour and a half), grab some popcorn and enjoy the adrenaline-fueled thrill ride!

Amazing Movie!

Retribution is definitely the best Resident Evil movie so far and I can't wait for the final one to come out! Non stop action, amazing special effects, awesome soundtrack by Tomandandy and best of all Milla Jovovich! The 3D was amazing too and you really missed out if you didn't see it in theaters!
