About the Movie

Winner of the 2010 Sundance Film Festival Grand Jury Prize for documentary, RESTREPO chronicles the deployment of a platoon of U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan's Korengal Valley, one of the most dangerous postings in the U.S. military. The movie focuses on 15 soldiers based at "Outpost Restrepo," named after a platoon medic killed early in the deployment. Filmed by author Sebastian Junger ("War") and award-winning photographer Tim Hetherington, RESTREPO takes viewers on their own 90-minute deployment, without comment or agenda. This is war, full stop. A National Geographic Entertainment release.

I first heard of this movie not by seeing commercials or anything but reading Sebastian Junger's book WAR. This book like the movie is a must get for anyone who really wants to know what people in the current war have to deal with. It shows not what the media or any other outside influence wants the war to be but what war truely is.

Greatest War Movie EVER! Buy it because you are going to want to watch it again and again. I already had lots of respect for the US Soldiers, But after this movie I have a even greater respect for those serving our country.

As real as it gets...

Freedom does not persist without patriots willing to serve her cause, a rare inside look at the battlefront in Afghanistan, God bless the troops serving the noble cause!
