Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: Lively history makes some good observations about video and the culture it enabled.
Fresh: Johnson's savvy authority ensures that "Rewind This!" will leave many film-and-video lovers begging for more.
Fresh: There's nary a trace of ironic detachment or condescension here, which is exceedingly rare for any depiction of geek culture.
This is for VHS geek collectors only.
I was fooled by the 100% Rotten Tomato eating. I think this film is looking at a really important part of film history and American pop culture. But this documentary is poorly done and can only be truly enjoyed by people who own Toxic Avenger on VHS.
A love letter to VHS
Lots of fun and even a little enlightening regarding certain aspects of the VHS phenomenon that I wasn't aware of. Recommended.
Just bought this and loved it. So many great VHS memories! When I was a kid I could not wait until Friday when the family would go to Pathmark and rent our 3 VHS tapes for the weekend. Love this doc so much!
