About the Movie
Orlando Bloom (Pirates of the Caribbean, The Lord of the Rings) and two-time Tony Award® nominee Condola Rashad (Stick Fly, The Trip to Bountiful) turn up the heat as the hottest, rule-breaking, heart-aching couple, ROMEO AND JULIET. Jealousy. Prejudice. Betrayal. And the chance that true love could actually conquer all. It could only be the greatest love story of all time, and, for the first time in over 36 years, it played live on Broadway in a stunningly modern production from five-time Tony® nominee David Leveaux. The acclaimed cast of 25 included Tony Award® winners Brent Carver (Kiss of the Spider Woman), Chuck Cooper (The Life), two-time Tony® nominee Jayne Houdyshell (Follies) and Christian Camargo (All My Sons).

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: OK, it's not Baz Luhrmann-inventive, but Bloom's playful Romeo and Condola Rashad's sweetly virginal Juliet are beautiful to watch.
Rotten: Shakespeare wrote Juliet as 13, Romeo a little older. But surely not as old as Orlando Bloom, 36, when he made his Broadway debut in the role last year?
Fresh: The thoughtful translation from the Broadway boards to the cinema screen and well-chosen leads makes this for a better than average adaptation.
I love this and Orlando!<3
I love this version of romeo and juliet!!! To be honest it's the only version I like because it's not so serious and depressing! Also I love how they are a interracial couple!
Good God, he's amazing! I love Orlando SO. MUCH. He's been my favorite elf and favorite pirate for quite a while, while being romantic for all the screaming fangirls. Personally, I'm not into that whole teenage-heartthrob thing. He's just one of the best actors in existence. Orlando is pretty good with romance, though. I mean, for anyone else, who wouldn't want to at least WATCH that performance? Not enough? How about playing Juliet? Now I've got your attention. 😉 But come on, Orlando rocks!!! Love you, Orlando!
