Jennifer Aniston portrays Sarah Huttinger, whose return home with her fiance convinces her that the sedate, proper, country-club lifestyle of her family isn't for her, and that maybe the Huttinger family isn't even hers. Join Sarah as she uncovers secrets that suggest the Huttingers are neither sedate nor proper - and as Kevin Costner, Shirley MacLaine and Mark Ruffalo join the fun. The story is rumor. The laughs are real!

Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: A mess -- all high concept, stranded performances, and no laughs.
Rotten: [The film is] rendered in a witless, banal environment that makes the whole thing pointless as it creeps to its oddly conformist conclusions.
Rotten: It fails artistically but also philosophically, in that it rebuts the spirit of the earlier film, while offering nothing attractive in its place.
Rotten: Without a plausible story, Rumor Has It has only its performances to get it by, and a very familiar performance -- from Shirley MacLaine, as Beau's still bawdy, one-time seductress -- is the best we get.
this movie is one of my favorites! but i do suggest seeing the movie "The Graduate" before watching it has to do with the entire movie.i love it! personally recommend buying it.
I actually liked the movie. Has anyone else noticed that Itunes is killing their sales with all these rotten tomatoes. I wouldn't have anything to watch if I based it off critics.
Only One Good Thing
The only good thing about this movie is that it had Mark Ruffalo in it. Otherwise, it sucked. The acting was flat, there was no comedy (it seemed more like a bad drama?), and no real storyline, all confusing, mostly stupid. Again, the only thing really good about it was Mark Ruffalo. But, after that, It was really horrible.
