About the Movie
This award-winning film chronicles the story of Jim Tracy, the deeply dedicated, brutally honest and tough-love coach of the San Francisco University High School cross-country team. Jim and his team gained international attention when 16 year-old captain Holland Reynolds collapsed and crawled across the finish line at the 2010 California state championship race. Running for Jim explores how Jim, once a competitive runner, now faces the greatest challenge of his life: battling Lou Gehrig's disease.
Great film-so inspiring. So much so I have seen it a couple of times and got even more out of it the second time around. Such a courageous man, an upbeat guy with an incredible attitude. I highly recommend it!
A truly inspiring story of a coach and his team.
Coach Jim Tracy of University High School led the girls’ cross-country team to 12 league titles, 12 North Coast Section championships and 10 state championships, breaking records along the way. The film shows how, when he is diagnosed with fatal ALS, he continues to inspire his team.
