Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: What's most impressive about Salt (aside from Jolie's committed performance) is the film's relentless pace. I can't remember the last action film so devoted to being all action, all the time. Frankly, it's a little exhausting. – Simon Miraudo, Quickflix, Oct 21, 2014

Fresh: Daft, but entertaining enough while it lasts, and it's oddly fun to see that venerable villainess, the Cold War, showing the young upstarts how it's done. – Catherine Bray, Film4, Aug 26, 2010

Rotten: Can an action film have too much action? It sounds unlikely, like a cheese being too cheesy, but here's Salt to show us different. – David Sexton, This is London, Aug 26, 2010

Fresh: Why it should be so damn satisfying for women like me to watch these heroines kicking men around is another question. We'd surely be appalled by the reverse. Just call it a guilty pleasure. – Julie Rigg, MovieTime, ABC Radio National, Aug 20, 2010

A fresh, intense thriller!

If there's one thing I have a soft spot for, it's an original thriller. "Salt" is that, and much more. The story, according to the previews, is pretty simple. 'Is Evelyn Salt a Russian spy, or is she being set up?'. Well let me tell you, it's not that simple. But it's very intense, and very original. The acting is spectacular, with Angelina Jolie heading a brilliant cast. It wasn't overconfident or silly like action stars in other movies, (cough, Prince of Persia, cough). The action was well coreographed and amazing. It wasn't CGI laden like other action movies, (cough, again, Prince of Persia, cough), and gave many jaw dropping moments. Overall, "Salt" stands as one of my favorite action/thrillers ever. It's one of the years best. Two thumbs up.

One Of The Year's Best!!!

Saw it in the theaters and had high expectations since the trailer made the film look really good and a "edge of the seat" kind of movie and this movie did not let me down. Saw it and my heart was racing even after I left the theatre. Non-stop action throughout. Seriously...not stop! Loved it!

Great

I did not expect Salt to be this good. I loved it i hope they make a sequel to this. Everybody would love this movie
