Plot Summary

Tim Allen is back in the big red suit for more adventure and laughs in Disney's hilarious family comedy. Get ready for a thrilling sleigh ride as the reluctant Santa Claus faces his most chilling and hysterical challenge yet. As Christmas nears, Scott Calvin invites his in-laws (Ann-Margret and Alan Arkin) to join the festivities. The holidays take a chaotic turn when Scott discovers a way out of his "Santa Clause" and the mischievous Jack Frost (Martin Short) puts the big freeze on Christmas' big cheese! Unless Scott can save the day, it's going to be a very chilly Frostmas at the North Pole and all around the world. Will Scott be able to get his job back in the St. Nick of time? Celebrate the holidays with THE SANTA CLAUSE 3: THE ESCAPE CLAUSE. It's a gift the whole family will treasure.

Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: This Styrofoam snowman of a sequel overdoses on its own candy-cane-colored sugary cheer. – Gregory Kirschling, Entertainment Weekly, Jul 7, 2010

Rotten: It's very, very difficult to care, because the movie is structured so poorly. – Peter Hartlaub, San Francisco Chronicle, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: Jack Frost gains control of Santa's workshop and turns it into a Las Vegas-style theme park -- supposedly a hideous inversion of Christmas values. So blandly commercialized is the movie's vision of the holiday that you can hardly tell the difference. – Ty Burr, Boston Globe, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause, with Martin Short as Jack Frost, means we're getting a turkey and a ham for the holidays. – Kyle Smith, New York Post, Jul 16, 2008

Worst in the series.

Compare the Santa Clause trilogy to the Shrek trilogy. Santa Clause / Shrek - Very good movies that established the franchises. Santa Clause 2 / Shrek 2 - Superior to their predecessors, but still the originals are great. Santa Clause 3 / Shrek 3 - Unnecessary, irrelevant movies.
