An American journalist in Paris, Julia Jarmond (Kristin Scott Thomas of I'VE LOVED YOU SO LONG, TELL NO ONE) begins research for an article about the French Vel'd'Hiv Roundup in 1942. As she digs through history, Julia's life becomes intertwined with the story of young Sarah, who was arrested with her parents by the French police during the Roundup. Sixty years later, Sarah's secrets are still shrouded in a mystery that turns Julia's life upside-down, as she struggles to uncover the past, while living in the present. Featuring Aidan Quinn (LEGENDS OF THE FALL).

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: It does provide audiences with the satisfaction of seeing and hearing an important truth expressed, and that's better than making you feel good. That's making you feel something.
Fresh: Luckily, the movie has Scott Thomas. She knows her radiance can't be helped, so she uses it here like a searchlight.
Fresh: A movingly told tale of tragedy and its consequences, not just for the players in the original tragedy but also for those touched by their actions, in an ever-widening circle of aftershocks.
Rotten: Thomas carries the weight of the movie, and her usual sangfroid works against her; when she finally makes contact with the deported couple's grandson, the story crumples into sentimentality
A must see
I have seen this movie and it's my favorite I read the book it's so sad to anyone who reads this it's worth the money it's such an amazing movie!
Definite must see
It's very real, well done, compelling, noteworthy
The young actress who plays the younger version of Sarah will wreck you. This movie is mostly in French which I thought would be a problem but I became so hooked by the performances I didn't even notice. This isn't a violent or bloody Holocaust movie that's over the top but it will make you cry just the same.
