Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: The screenplay, by Kelly Marcel and Sue Smith, seamlessly captures two different eras with overlapping story lines that never intrude or confuse. – Rex Reed, New York Observer, Dec 18, 2013

Fresh: The movie avoids commonplace traps; it never becomes maudlin and it doesn't transform Travers into a likeable elderly lady whose heart of gold is camouflaged by crotchetiness. – James Berardinelli, ReelViews, Dec 19, 2013

Rotten: Saving Mr Banks is a merciless film. It hits you with every sentimental low blow it can think of. Then it pounds you again. And when you're down, it jumps on you. – David Thomson, The New Republic, Dec 19, 2013

Fresh: Smart, delightful. – Steven Rea, Philadelphia Inquirer, Dec 20, 2013

Great movie

I thought it was a really good movie

Saving mr banks

This movie is one that might win several oscars. Tom Hanks and, well, everyone in this movie was fantastic. Go to the theaters and see this movie or pre order it. It's worth your precious money.

kids... adults... top billing for all

I took three kids 10 y.o. twins and a 7 y.o. I'm grandma. All of us loved it. Kept them in their seats though it wasn't action packed or even necessarily well-paced. Just a really good story, well told. Kudos to all who worked to get this story told!
