Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: The latest and least of the Saw films is just plain boring and even a little tame -- albeit by the standards of a genre that helped bring the phrase "torture porn" into the lexicon. – Nathan Lee, New York Times, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: Saw V is dead on the table. – Gregory Kirschling, Entertainment Weekly, Jul 7, 2010

Rotten: Saw V is a terrible combination: grisly and tedious. Let's just call it bloody dull. – Claudia Puig, USA Today, Jul 7, 2010

Rotten: The periodic traps set for five new victims, all linked by a rotten real-estate deal, are neither as terrifying nor as yucky as in the earlier films. The only real horror in these scenes, in fact, is the jaw-droppingly bad acting on display. – Robert Koehler, Variety, Jul 7, 2010

Saw V (Unrated Director's Cut)

I admit that it is a little pricey but worth every penny. I went to see it the day it came out and here I am again. This is the best one in the series only after Saw III. I am surprised that this came out on iTunes the day it came out. I was supposed to be the first reviewer but my connection timed out, and with this number of reviews, five people will become one with a common goal. Best movie of '08. Yes for Saw; No for Twilight.

gr8 SAW!!!!

to much for my girl, but i love scary movies, all saw's including 5 are must own!!!!

Pretty good...but not the best

I anticipated Saw V when i heard it was coming out. My buddy and I went to the theater and were kind of dissapointed. I've watched it two more times now and it's great. It's not as good as the first or third...but it is definatley better than the 2nd one and a tad better the the 4th one. There needed to be more gore, but i loved the story it told. At the end of Saw IV you were like, why Detective Hoffman? This gave a great reason why and I can't wait till saw VI. My Favorite Saw- Most liked to Disliked. 1.Saw-Originals are always the best 2.Saw III-Best gore, best traps 3.Saw V-Best story 4.Saw IV-Average story, average gore, average traps 5.Saw II-corny acting, corny story, great twist
