Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: Schindler's List is a film whose meanings are to be found less in its uplifting outline than in its harrowing flow of images -- images of fear, hope, horror, compassion, degradation, chaos, and death. – Owen Gleiberman, Entertainment Weekly, Mar 1, 2010

Fresh: This is the film to win over Spielberg skeptics. – Todd McCarthy, Variety, Jul 7, 2010

Fresh: Not only is the subject matter different for Spielberg, the way it is treated is a departure both for him and for the business as usual standards of major studio releases. – Kenneth Turan, Los Angeles Times, Feb 21, 2015

Fresh: Few American movies since the silent era have had anything approaching this picture's narrative boldness, visual audacity, and emotional directness. – Terrence Rafferty, New Yorker, Feb 22, 2013

Steven Spielberg blew us all away with "Schindlers List." Personally, I must concur with @BrokenHeadphones. I could not have said it any better myself. This film is a masterpiece. Simply brilliant. The direction, acting, and cinematography is overwhelming. All I can say is; glad this won Best Picture at the Oscars back in 1994.

I can't tell you how ecstatic I am to know that iTunes has finally added "Schindler's List" to its giant catalogue of movies. I've seen this incredible film so many times throughout my life, and it still makes me shed more than a few tears every single time I watch it. From the incredible performances to the harrowingly tragic story to the devastatingly emotional score, nearly everything about this heart-wrenchingly realistic depiction of the Holocaust makes it one of the most beautiful and brilliant dramas ever made, and the true work of a master filmmaker at the top of his craft. I don't think Steven Spielberg will ever be able to top this movie for the rest of his career. I don't think anyone can argue with me when I say "Schindler's List" is a grand masterpiece that deserves to be recognized for all its major contributions to the world of modern cinema. This Oscar-winning film is so significant, it deserves to be seen by every living person at least once during their lifetime. I swear, you will not regret it.
