Great Movie! but read the following:

For the people that do not know: Silent Hill is a game series for playstation and xbox. So if you play those games and you enjoy them, especially for the creepy, and mysterious feeling, the twisted monsters (bubble headed nurses, pyramid head etc.), and the thoughts of an abandoned town....you will love this movie. You CAN enjoy it even without playing the games, but you probably will have to like the previous three things that I mentioned before. Get the picture?

Most disturbing film in recent years

I don't normally write reviews for movies, but had to write about Silent Hill. I'm a big horror buff, and have watched hundreds of horror films over the years, and Silent Hill ranks way up there with my other favorites. No, I never played the video game, but it doesn't matter. From start to finish this movie is very distrubing, and that is what gives it its creepiness and chills. It has its moments of gore, but they're not gratuitous and they fit within the purpose of the story. The music, ambiance, background, and monsters/characters make this a unique horror flick. Certain parts of the film were outright scary... and I don't scare easily.

Pyramid Head on the big screen

Though it contains major story changes and does not deliver all the scares of the original game, it is still one of the only video game movies that truly captures the atmosphere of the horror series and is a very enjoyable movie.
