Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: It's a candy-coated sugar rush, though its mind-numbing repetitiveness (and haphazardly-written screenplay) will likely test even the most patient parent. – Joey Nolfi, Entertainment Weekly, Apr 7, 2017

Rotten: At best, it's an adequate cinematic babysitter. That said, few parents will have any residual anger for spending the money. – Peter Hartlaub, San Francisco Chronicle, Apr 5, 2017

Rotten: Setting a quick montage to Eiffel 65's dance hit "Blue (Da Ba Dee)" might be the most inspired touch of all. – Tom Russo, Boston Globe, Apr 6, 2017

Fresh: It never digs very deep into its characters or its themes. Still, it's always encouraging to see a children's movie that actually tries to say something to its viewers. – Rafer Guzman, Newsday, Apr 6, 2017

It was great

Don't listen to critics, this movie is good. Worth watching

An actual Good Smurfs movie

Ingore what the critics are saying, this is a really big improvement over the first two live-action/cgi films. It was funny, sad, overall enjoyable that kids of this generation will love.

Love the Smurfs, Love the movie!

If you know and love the smurfs, you'll love this movie. Characters and story well done and true to the 80's smurfs we grew up with. Kids loved it. Big improvement from the first 2 smurf movies. Hope they make another one like this!
