Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: It is a classic, as important cinematically as The Birth of a Nation or the birth of Mickey Mouse. – Frank S. Nugent, New York Times, Dec 8, 2014

Fresh: So perfect is the illusion, so tender the romance and fantasy, so emotional are certain portions when the acting of the characters strikes a depth comparable to the sincerity of human players, that the film approaches real greatness. – John C. Flinn Sr., Variety, Jul 7, 2010

Fresh: The film is as charming as it is novel in conception and execution and it is so bound to appeal as strongly to grown-ups as to youngsters. – Kate Cameron, New York Daily News, Apr 7, 2015

Fresh: Like many of the Disney films, from Pinocchio to Fantasia, this film is a cinematic rite of passage -- for children and adults. – Desson Thomson, Washington Post, Mar 7, 2001

Must Have

Hi Ho- Hi Ho - Off to work I go.

I bought this and looking forward to it’s availability.

Delightful and Still Impressive

This was the first full-length animated movie ever and while it has nothing on great animated movies nowadays such as Tangled and Frozen, it still is good. The animation is okay, and the parts that have been truly remastered such as the evil queen - those parts look fantastic. The queen transforming to an old lady is still scary, and it's good to watch and see what they were able to do wayyyyyy back then. :)

The Film that Defined Children's Cinema

Walt Disney was inarguably the man who defined children's cinema as we know it. And few films defined children's cinema quite as much as Walt's first feature film, "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs". When it was first released in early 1938, Time Magazine rightly predicted that the film would be enjoyed by new generations long after that generation of Hollywood stars had passed on. Within the 83 minutes of this film are several aspects that would become hallmarks of children's cinema for decades to come, one of which is a fair share of terrifying moments.
