About the Movie

An Arabian princess is kidnapped, and it's up to Chief Inspector Dreyfus (Lom) to save her. Fortunately, there's no Clouseau around to plague him this time! But when a klutzy local cop with the unfortunate name of Jacques (Benigni) is assigned to help him, he manages to run Dreyfus over and blow him up - all on his first day on the job. Soon Dreyfus begins to fear that if Clouseau has a long-lost son, he would be a lot like this!

Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: What Son of the Pink Panther doesn't have, in addition to Mr. Sellers, is a screenplay that is even semi-coherent. – Stephen Holden, New York Times, Jul 23, 2014

Rotten: Outside of the James Bond films, it's hard to think of a series as passe as Blake Edwards' Pink Panther comedies. – Ty Burr, Entertainment Weekly, Jul 23, 2014

Rotten: Starring Italian comedian Roberto Benigni as the new bumbling inspector, it is a tired pastiche of recycled sketches and gags. – Emanuel Levy, Variety, Jul 23, 2014

Rotten: Edwards actually sets the stage at the end for a sequel. Is there anybody out there who would want to see it? More to the point, would Edwards want to make it? – Peter Rainer, Los Angeles Times, Jul 23, 2014

This is a older movie but totally funny. It's so worth it I wish I had enough money to buy it.

; )

I loved it watch it all the time think it is a grate story

Roberto Benigni brings laughs to this final sequel of the original Blake Edwards Series. Albeit that he can't match up to Sellers in the previous sequels but far better than Ted Wass did in Trail of. Lima portrayal of Dreyfuss never gets old as he gets run over blown up given a heart attack in the hospital and nearly skewered by a sword. Claudia Cardinale still looks ravishingly beautiful in this movie. Only caveat to this Picture is the James Bond like rescue scene which is rather cheesy and as brash as a GI Joe cartoon from the 80s. But worth the enjoyment.
