Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: A gorgeous and dreamlike but ultimately frustrating Bond film. I blame Mendes. – Chris Klimek, NPR, Nov 5, 2015

Fresh: I regard it as a ravishing exercise in near-despair, with Bond beset by the suspicion that, were he to desist, both his character and his cause would be unmasked as a void. Killing is his living, and his proof of life. – Anthony Lane, New Yorker, Nov 9, 2015

Fresh: In the end, this solid Bond does justice to the character's long legacy while paying due diligence to what he has become under Daniel Craig's stewardship. – James Berardinelli, ReelViews, Nov 5, 2015

Fresh: For the most part, it's efficient-enough Bond fare - overlong car chases, beautiful women in eternal danger, crazy stunts, suave cool under fire. Nice fitting suits. – Tom Long, Detroit News, Nov 6, 2015

Another Best Bond Yet!!

Just watch it tonight, it was amazing. It was a total darkness chapter yet of other Bond movies. This is certified the hit of the Bond franchise. Honest percent 96% (rottentomatoes) 8.5/10. Good action, acting, and the story itself actually brings back to the beginning just like in Sean Conenry series as Bond. The best Bond yet!!

Splendiferous inclusion to 007 canon!

The Daniel Craig "reboot" Bond series has come full circle in SPECTRE, and, as suggested by my previous quote, is now one consistent narrative. Bond has belatedly returned to its roots, while still remaining faithful to its predecessor. So naturally, we have entered a new era of Bond that is uncharted yet still familiar. The film is a direct sequel to Skyfall, and while not superior as promised, it is still a splendiferous Bond film. Remarkably, it cleverly blends the styles of For Your Eyes Only, Licence to Kill, Casino Royale, and Skyfall into one unison product. From the pre-title sequence onward, the film is clustered with action, making its 2 hr 30 min run time feel like 15 minutes. Also, I must inform you that the film is STUFFED with former Bond homage. This provides nice Easter Eggs for Bond fans, and an occasional grin. This is the Bond film I have been waiting for. And I hope others will relish it as well.

High energy, fine acting, absolutely absurd plot.

Coming off one of my favorite bond films, I had high hopes for the latest effort in the series, it's just another standard bond mid level high action ludicrous plot I couldn't get involved in. Maybe worth a rent.
