Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: If "Spider-Man: Homecoming" is to be judged solely on its ability to unite a diverse audience behind a fun motion picture, it seems to have succeeded wildly.
Fresh: This is the Spidey movie we've been waiting for. It's also the best Spider-Man movie of the bunch.
Fresh: If they're going to be as fizzy and funny and warmhearted as this, keep 'em coming.
Fresh: No cobwebs on Spidey - Spider-Man: Homecoming feels breezily, pleasingly fresh.
FINALLY!!! This is a Spider-Man movie I've been waiting YEARS for. Tom Holland nails Peter Parker and Spider-Man. Robert Downey Jr. is used just right and Michael Keaton KILLS as the Vulture. Everyone gives their A-game and this movie is about as great as a Marvel movie could be. The only downside is that this is not so much a superhero movie, but rather a John Hughes movie with Spider-Man perfectly stuffed in there. So this might be an acquired taste for some. But besides that, watch it, then watch it again.
This is personally my favorite spider man movie I have ever watched! Tom Holland is the best Spider-Man, he is actually a teenager, and he just fits the part. The movie has a good and steady plot with a good climax and ending. It's got a good steady balance of action and comedy. It is an amazing movie and a must watch!
Finally, a Spider-Man I like
I felt a little trepidation in seeing this movie because I have not really liked any of the previous Spider-Man movies. They were okay when I first watched them but as time went on, I began to see how truly terrible they were. I liked Tom Holland in Captain America: Civil War, but giving a movie to a character who was only in a few scenes in another movie could have gone badly for the MCU--especially since Sony was still in charge.
Thankfully, my fears were unfounded. This was a great Spider-Man movie and one I will not regret owning (unlike the previous 5 Spider-Man movies). The cast was great, the story was good, and the villain was excellent. Can't wait to see this one again.
