About the Movie
Writer/director/producer M. Night Shyamalan returns with an original thriller that delves into the mysterious recesses of one man’s fractured, gifted mind. Though Kevin (James McAvoy) has evidenced 23 personalities to his trusted psychiatrist, Dr. Fletcher (Betty Buckley), there remains one still submerged who is set to materialize and dominate all the others. Compelled to abduct three teenage girls led by the willful, observant Casey (Anya Taylor-Joy, The Witch), Kevin reaches a war for survival among all of those contained within him - as well as everyone around him - as the walls between his compartments shatter apart.

Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: Split isn't a disaster; it's just all over the place and not nearly as effective as it should be for something with such a good premise and performances.
Fresh: The movie's simultaneous evocation of both the depravity at work beneath society's deceptive surfaces and the inadequacy of the liberal technocratic order to defend against that depravity is the secret to its success.
Fresh: The film's most positive quality is the performance turned in by James McAvoy. It's a dream role given he plays so many different characters.
Fresh: Split seems at first like a venture into torture porn, but evolves into a more philosophical thriller exploring the extent to which the human mind can affect the physical world.
the most entertaining movie i've seen. there was never a moment i got bored, you're always wanting to see what happens next.
So...this is weird to say...but....
Split is really, REALLY good. I would give it 4.5 stars, but iTunes won't allow that so five is gonna have to do. Here's hoping that M. Night might be returning to the great director that we all once thought he was. Fingers crossed.
The Most Entertaining Movie in Years!
Split is so entertaining, I went back to the theater to watch it again. The movie never bores you, and the end had a pretty good twist. It may confuse you slightly though.
