Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: The final twist does more to unravel what's come before than to tie it all together, making what's come before feel like a cosmopolitan goose chase. – Carina Chocano, Los Angeles Times, Sep 20, 2007

Rotten: S lot of talent gets expended in Stay. (I'm not including whoever dressed McGregor.) Too bad the movie they made, while effective in short spurts, is almost a complete waste of time. – Andrew O'Hehir,, Jul 7, 2010

Rotten: In Marc Forster's humorless thriller, going insane is an exciting, luxurious affair. – Rachel Aviv, Village Voice, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: A pretty package that's empty on the inside. – Neva Chonin, San Francisco Chronicle, Jun 24, 2010

I have never seen such a beautifully filmed movie. The cinematography itself made me want to cry. The acting is great. the twists this movie takes are unbelievable. I highly recomend this movie. If you liked Donnie Darko you'll love this movie.

B-list stars can't create a story

Trying to out-Sixth Sense the Sixth Sense is a noble goal, but this movie fails miserably at it's attempt. At least that is what I am assuming this was, because the story that plays out has no connection at all to the "shocking ending." Don't waste your time on this, even to rent, unless you don't care about a cohesive story line with an ending that ties all the pieces together.
