Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: From this beginning, Sorkin and Boyle add layer upon layer of shadowing to their portrait of Jobs as ruthless, driven, obsessive, and extraordinarily charismatic, aided in no small part by Michael Fassbender's brilliant performance. – Vicky Roach, Daily Telegraph (Australia), May 12, 2016

Fresh: Revitalising the tired notion of a biopic, this three-act miracle is unquestionably the best-written movie of the past year. – James Mottram, South China Morning Post, Apr 6, 2016

Fresh: Though it is a decidedly dark portrait that shimmers into shape before us, Michael Fassbender infuses a comic bounce to his performance that neatly counters his regular outbursts of despotism and bad fatherhood. – Jim Schembri, 3AW, Feb 26, 2016

Fresh: Steve Jobs, a study of the late co-founder of Apple that takes place in the hours and minutes prior to three separate product launches, is a powerful film with little subtlety. – Craig Mathieson, The Sunday Age, May 23, 2016

Such a beautiful film, it really is a great film and will be a cult classic some day, this film really is such a great watch, recommend it.

Steve Jobs

really good i recommend it because i think people who watch historical or realistic movies are really going to love this movie.Great

Excellent Dramatization, Writing, and Direction

Sorkin distilled the verbose biography down to a classic 3-act play structure that skips accuracy of events to nail accuracy of essence of a complex, imperfect tech Titan. People who met and worked with Steve in these periods herald this film as perfectly capturing this intimidating and flawed visionary. This humanizes Steve. Performances are brilliant across the board. The writing is sharp. One of the greatest films of 2015, and one that no one saw. Compelling and entertaining. Just remember it's not a biopic. This is expertly crafted drama.
