About the Movie
Hank (Paul Dano) is stranded on a deserted island, having given up all hope of ever making it home again. But one day everything changes when a corpse named Manny (Daniel Radcliffe) washes up on shore; the two become fast friends, and ultimately go on an epic adventure that will bring Hank back to the woman of his dreams. Outrageously fun and deeply affecting, Swiss Army Man is a gonzo buddy comedy that is the feature film debut of acclaimed music video directors Daniel Scheinert and Daniel Kwan (collectively known as DANIELS, and responsible for the visionary “Turn Down For What” video, among many others). Bursting with limitless creativity in both form and content, Swiss Army Man goes from the absurd to the emotional to the whimsical to the profound and back again.

Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: By the end, having failed in its attempt at cleverness, the movie veers into sentiment, the inevitable last resort. The movie fails at that, too.
Fresh: If you stick with it, there's a chance it'll grow on you as it grew on me - and you'll be rewarded with maybe the best ending of any movie so far this year.
Fresh: The third act dissolves back into emo indulgence. But before then, you may just have found yourself briefly watching in wonderment, only disturbed by the nagging feeling that this is all very wrong.
Fresh: It's Castaway meets Weekend at Bernie's.
Sweet, funny, brilliant, poignant film about society and the human psyche. A film that finds the beauty inherent in humanity that we repress and discard and celebrates it shamelessly.
Farting Corpse Movie
Beautifully surreal and emotionally deep (at times) this is one of the most unique and fun movies to come out in a while, we need more of these.
What a great, and sad, and powerful story.
I laughed, I cried, I may have also farted. What started as a bizarre survival story turned into what I found to be a uniquely moving way to serve up equal measures of the fears and joys we all know one way or another.
It's unconventional but beautiful is its own way.
