Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: Of course the special effects are more impressive than ever. But nearly every curveball offered up in this new parallel-universe version of the Terminator world isn't as interesting or as original as the timeline we loved in the first place. – Richard Roeper, Chicago Sun-Times, Jul 3, 2015

Rotten: The only one really having a good time is Schwarzenegger, who grins like a Cheshire cyborg even when nothing's funny, least of all the impending destruction of humanity. – Peter Howell, Toronto Star, Jul 2, 2015

Rotten: Apparently, this is the first of a new trilogy. One can only hope it improves. – Nick Dent, Daily Telegraph (Australia), Oct 23, 2015

Rotten: Part of what makes Terminator Genisys so pitiful as an evening out is that all the actors do over and over again is tell us why they're in a particular scene and why the movie exists. – Wesley Morris, Grantland, Jul 9, 2015

Amazing

Best Terminator movie to date!

This movie is a BEAST ! ! !

Remember that critic in Birdman? The one that was going to write a poor review regardless of whether or not the show was good? Those are the types of people currently writing poor reviews for Terminator Genisys. And last time I checked, one need not fulfill any educational requirements to become a movie critic. So don’t listen to those idiots. Listen to me - I live in a house of LEARNED DOCTORS. This movie is a BEAST! Arnold is a LEGEND! And as long as he keeps making movies, I’ll keep seeing them.

Good, But Not Perfect

I saw the early review for Terminator
Genisys, and I loved every minute of it.
The visual effects were beyond
incredible, however, the story could
have actually been much better.
It was nice to see Arnold
Schwarzenegger back in action,
but the story of the film was pretty bad
and therefore, Shwarzenegger couldn't
bring the full brunt of his iconic role as
the Terminator the way he did with the
first three films. They could've
continued the series we all know with
this film, but they reinvented it, well,
but not well enough to compare
with the original films. Now, they could
do something similar to X-Men, where
they combine both Terminator
universes, because there is still
one question that was never answered
who sent Pops to protect Sarah?
