About the Movie
The year is 2018. An army of Terminators roams the post-apocalyptic landscape, killing or collecting humans. But small groups of survivors have organized into a Resistance, hiding in underground bunkers and striking when they can. Controlling the Terminators is the artificial intelligence network Skynet, which became self-aware 14 years earlier and, in the blink of an eye, turned on its creators, unleashing nuclear annihilation on an unsuspecting world. The world is on the brink of the future that John Connor (Christian Bale) has been warned about all his life. But something totally new has shaken his belief that humanity stands a chance of winning this war: the appearance of Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), a stranger from the past. Connor must decide whether Marcus can be trusted. But as Skynet adapts new strategies to end the Resistance forever, Connor and Marcus must find common ground to take a stand against the onslaught--to infiltrate Skynet and meet the enemy head-on.

Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: It brings me very little joy to report that this version of the popular Terminator franchise is silly, obtuse, and pointless.
Rotten: Missing is Cameron's signature action modification, best exploited in Aliens: the strapping female heroine. McG's testosterone-juiced world feels a little doomed without her.
Rotten: Listen, come over to my place this weekend; we'll rewatch Terminator 1 and 2, we'll listen to 'You Could Be Mine' by Guns N Roses, we can even discuss Edward Furlong's 'career'. And let's just pretend Terminator Salvation never happened.
Rotten: For once I found myself hankering for Arnold Schwarzenegger.
An honest review.
Okay, first of all the storyline wasn't as good as T2 Judgement Day but it's decent enough non the less. Second, the acting, Christian Bale wasn't the best John Conner, but he did a fairly good job and you get the idea of what he's trying to accomplish. The rest of the cast in my opinion did an excellent job in their roles, but only good for an action film. Thirdly, the visuals and action were very realistic and well corordinated, very undissapointing. And last but probably biggest subject, Arnold Schwarzenegger not starring in the movie. Honesty, even without him, the movie all in all is still very good and being a die-hard Terminator fan, I recomend it to old and new fans of the series.
wait for the directors cut
I loved this movie. it wasnt as good as the first two but still a good movie to watch. the only thing i wish they did was kept its rated r counterpart. this version is good and all but what i read on the internet, the rated r version is so much better. please itunes make the directors cut version able to be preordered
So called fans
I do not understand why so called "fans" of franchises pick out so many flaws of movies (if you can call them flaws) I consider myself a fan of this series and I think this movie is my favorite of the four. When I walked out of the theater after watching this, I was amazed by everything in it. The effects the acting everything was amazing! So why do other "fans" critisise this movie so much? Forget about the other movies, please. You can watch those as much as you want. But stop comparing them to this one.
