Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: Mr. Sandler manages a frame or so of genuine sentiment, and the caricature is so ugly it's cute. He's a performer, and there are moments when audiences will surrender to his shtick. Moments. – David DeWitt, New York Times, Jun 14, 2012

Rotten: Another bottom-of-the-barrel raunchfest that is bound to make far more money than such sludge could ever deserve. – Claudia Puig, USA Today, Jun 14, 2012

Rotten: It points you toward the irresistible conclusion that for all his success Sandler feels only contempt for his audience and tremendous insecurity about his own stature in the comedy universe. – Andrew O'Hehir,, Jun 17, 2012

Rotten: Central to the movie's deficiencies is Sandler's inability to create a comic character. – Mick LaSalle, San Francisco Chronicle, Jun 14, 2012

I was expecting so much out of this movie, good laughs, another Adam Sandler hit, and hoping I'd see myself in the background in the beginning during the auditorium scene well I was wrong. This movie had to much vulgar language, terrible acting and jokes. I'm sorry to say this but Adam Sandler probably needs to hang it up because he gets negative reviews every other movie and people have been putting him down since Jack & Jill. If you want to see this abomination go head and rent it but you will regret it.

It's about time, if you like, Happy Gilmore, Billy Madison, and Mr Deeds you will like this one, I am picky when it comes to comedies and this one made me laugh

Look, I like movies. Actually, let me re-phrase that; I "LOVE" movies, but this was disgusting. Usually I do not mind raunchy comedies, however this film was a train wreck. I've never been a Adam Sandlar fan, so I am not trying to bash him here in anyway. I am particularly familiar with his films, and I respect his work. But this?! Seriously!? This takes vulgarity to the next level...after certain films I even wondered if there was a "next level." Firstly, Sandler gives the worst performance of his film career. Secondly, the plot is ridiculous. Thirdly, the script seems to have been written by a 17 year old on drugs. And lastly, it's offensive to the viewers. I never like to get to personal in reviews, but this was a disaster! I can not even explain to you how revolting this film was. And for the record, I did not laugh at all during the film. Actually, no one at my screening laughed. I wanted to get up and leave, but I stayed firm since I wanted to give the film a chance. But that chance never came. I wish I never wasted precious minutes of my life on this stupid, idiotic, disgusting, vulgar and appalling waste of filmmaking. Beware of this film....for the love of God, beware.
