About the Movie
Jaded and bitter Dee Dee (Anne Heche), hopeless romantic Bebe (Marcia DeBonis), and human train wreck Clementine (Alia Shawkat) are about to experience the worst day of their lives. Follow this fearsome threesome as they embark on a hilarious misadventure around New York City, surviving disastrous haircuts, vomit-inducing cab rides and a freak encounter with a murderous vibrator. Directed by Carrie Preston, this quirky, down-and-dirty look at friendship gets honest, crude, and in your face as it answers one of life’s great questions: “Why does it always have to be so hard?”…. That’s What She Said.

Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: "That's What She Said," an unpleasant comedy about friendship, aims to be a female twist on the bromance.
Rotten: If you see just one repellent femme-owned-and-operated comedy about unpleasant women and a stubborn case of vaginal yeast infection, you might as well make it That's What She Said, since I hope there'll never be another like it.
Rotten: This crude, shrill day in the life of three ill-matched Manhattan women will prove as irksome to most viewers as it is to the protags.
Rotten: It's all directed - and played - at fever pitch with an egregious disregard for real-world comportment.
The door to the Hollywood standards were kicked down on this one! None of the high flown shallowness of the "perfect" looking female. The characters are people that could be standing next to you tomorrow in the grocery store buying tampons and the dialogue is fast and assertive. I'd love to see more like this. Rips the paper covering the typical pretentious studio productions and exposes real women in all their assorted glory. LOVED IT!
SO GOOD! (And about time, too!)
FINALLY! A movie that shows real, messy women getting through a real, messy day together. I laughed and cringed and laughed some more, all to be completely moved by the ending. Marcia DeBonis, Anne Heche and Alia Shawkat are wonderful as the three leading ladies who weather the storm (at one point, literally) together and deliver Kellie Overbey's snappy, raunchy and hilarious dialogue perfectly while also tugging at your heart. Such a good movie and hopefully the first of many joint efforts from Kellie Overbey and Carrie Preston. See it and then go hug your friends.
