Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: It's depressing to see Ms. Moretz - so spirited in "Clouds of Sils Maria" and the "Kick-Ass" movies - reduced to constant mooning at Mr. Roe. And yet the source novel is part of a trilogy. Expect sequels. – Andy Webster, New York Times, Jan 21, 2016

Rotten: the only standout in the cast besides Moretz is Maika Monroe (It Follows) as a Goth fighter with no patience for pussies. Jeez, if only Monroe and Mortez had been allowed to take over. Instead, here's another dystopian washout. – Peter Travers, Rolling Stone, Jan 22, 2016

Rotten: With two subsequent books in the series, can a movie franchise be far behind? Let's hope not. – Gary Goldstein, Los Angeles Times, Jan 21, 2016

Rotten: The whole thing appears to have been designed by some crazed Oedipal wing of the N.R.A. – Anthony Lane, New Yorker, Jan 25, 2016

Even the popcorn was bad.

I would call it one of the funniest movies of the year, but I don’t think I was supposed to laugh at it.

Just go see it

The cast is amazing. They left out a few minor details and sped up the longer (it felt longer in the book) parts. But other than that it was pretty on topic. Don't listen to anybody else. Just go see the movie for yourself. It gave me chills...

Woefull

Awful, the script, the acting the CGI, the lighting was good, but even that would have been better if it had of been pitch black. 2 hours watching a pitch black screen would have been more enjoyable. It is a long time since I have wasted money at a cinema, shamed I didn't wait until it was released on cable I could then of at least turned it off
