About the Movie
Christian Wolff (Ben Affleck) is a math savant with more affinity for numbers than people. Behind the cover of a small-town CPA office, he works as a freelance accountant for some of the world’s most dangerous criminal organizations. With the Treasury Department’s Crime Enforcement Division, run by Ray King (J.K. Simmons), starting to close in, Christian takes on a legitimate client: a state-of-the-art robotics company where an accounting clerk (Anna Kendrick) has discovered a discrepancy involving millions of dollars. But as Christian uncooks the books and gets closer to the truth, it is the body count that starts to rise.

Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: Affleck plays a math wiz whose position on the autism spectrum allegedly makes him a perfect assassin. That notion is offensive on so many levels, especially in the service of such low-grade crime fiction, that it's painful to watch.
Rotten: Piles up plotlines like an overbuilt house of cards that comes crashing down at the first well-earned guffaw of ridicule.
Fresh: Ben Affleck gets to play Will Hunting and Jason Bourne in this superhero origin story for adults ... Besides the incredible skills, we get a secret lair, double identities, even a shot of identical suits lined up in a closet like Batsuits.
Fresh: A fantastically convoluted, over-extended but watchable action thriller whose many dangling loose ends, subplots and side characters are finally tied up with a showy flourish.
Definitely worth a watch!
Okay, just let me say for the record that I've personally had no faith in rotten tomatoes' review system. IMDb is where it's at. Now that that's out of the way, onto the film. For starts, Ben Affleck is great in this movie, and I really enjoyed his character in this film. I also enjoyed the side characters, and felt they held their weight in the film. The story itself I really liked, and found it to be interesting. Maybe it's just me, but this film held my attention from start to finish, and I truly feel you should give it a watch.
I don't normally write reviews but this movie was awesome. Watched it this afternoon and came home to preorder, will probably go again tomorrow.
Ben Afflecks best movie since "Good Will Hunting"
This movie is quite possibly the best action movie I have ever seen. I watch everything from indie's, foreign, and major productions. I have never been more entertained than I was while watching "The Accountant". The critics are absolutely wrong and not only about this movie but about most. Do yourself the service of either purchasing or renting this movie it won't disappoint. By the way the trailer doesn't ruin the movie nor give you even a taste for what you are about to see. I own upwards of 400 movies all purchased on iTunes I've never taken the time to write a review but felt this deserved my time and effort. Well done Ben!!!!
