About the Movie
Gifted defense attorney Ray Shekar (Sachin Mehta) finds himself in the middle of a twisted game of who-done-it when his curiosity prompts him to take on the case of Allyson Dougherty (Kristina Klebe), a socialite accused of murdering her husband. Trying to maintain his spotless acquittal record, Ray is determined to uncover the truth about his client's guilt or innocence, but he must keep one step ahead of a persistent police detective (Michael Raynor), who begins to suspect the troubling secret behind Ray's success and sees the Daugherty case as an opportunity to settle an old score.
Twisty Legal Thriller
Considering this movie’s an indie, it's polished and nicely produced. The tightness of the story is underscored by the artful cinematography and restrained performances.
I love that the main character is Indian (he totally reminds me of Obama & George Clooney), but it's never a thing. The femme fatale exudes a classic intensity that is innocent and ominous (think Kim Novak). Both leads got such naturally expressive faces and a deepness in their eyes, it makes them a joy to watch. This quality also makes it tricky to figure out what exactly they're up to. You don't often see this type of nuance in low-budget thrillers, or thrillers period.
The story does require your utmost attention, but I'm pretty sure there are no holes in it, if you watch closely.
If you like legal thrillers, you'll love this one!
Great plot twists until the end. An engaging indie film with great characters and pacing that doesn't disappoint.
Just when you think you have it - YOU DON’T!
If you like smart thrillers then I highly recommend this one. Up there with John Grisham
