Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: The information here is compelling and frightening, but the movie is ham-handed. – Glenn Kenny, New York Times, Jan 26, 2017

Fresh: None of these topics have escaped the notice of journalists covering the climate-change beat in recent years. But Scott packages these concerns and others in a smart way, and includes the occasional bit of eye-opening history. – John DeFore, Hollywood Reporter, Feb 15, 2017

Fresh: Scott's filmmaking does a smooth job of linking A to B to Z, with slick, studiously understated montage and an effective music score, although some of the arguments made seem a bit of a stretch ... – Danny Bowes, Village Voice, Jan 25, 2017

Fresh: The election of climate change denier Donald Trump to the U.S. presidency underscores the urgency of this doc linking global warming to other crises. – Peter Howell, Toronto Star, Nov 10, 2016

Great film that is accurate

AOC lays out the theory and empirical evidence of climate security well. It's succinct, easy to understand, and is visually appealing. It's a great 1.5 hour-2 hour film that works well as an education tool or a late night movie with popcorn. Be fore-warned however, this stuff is grim.

Chilling, Relevant, and Inspiring

The film lays out the comprehensive problem behind how climate change contribuest to global conflict, and the ways that these problems are interlinked. Using a non-partisan approach to a very real challenge, the film is an eye-opening account of the ways that we must be vigilant about our environment in order to save our society.

Eye Opening

Thought provoking documentary cleary breaks down the fix we are in now. Refreshing - and alarming - to see climate change as a factor "posing immediate risks to US national security." Although presented as a risk assessment of climate change through the perspective of the security and military community, the onus is on us - civil society - do deal with this problem. Beautiful cinematography, graphics, and music.
