About the Movie
Screen legends Kirk Douglas ("Spartacus," "Is Paris Burning?") and Academy Award-winner Faye Dunaway ("Network," "Chinatown") headline in this high-pitched story of a successful executive who is forced to confront the realities of his complicated life. Academy Award-winning director Elia Kazan ("A Streetcar Named Desire," "On the Waterfront") brings his own best-selling novel to life.

Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: Kazan seems to have turned his search for identity into a callous soap opera, unworthy of a man of Kazan's true talent.
Rotten: The movie finally pounds at our moral sense so much that our moral sense wearies and becomes defensive, and we are finally just grateful for Faye Dunaway's beauty, and the way she doesn't raise her voice.
Too long and over-wrought
This is not the best work by any of the people involved, but the real problem is the story - at best not very engaging, at worse pretentious and self-satisfied, it drags on and on.
