Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: Yes, it's a horror movie (the murder scenes suggest that the director has watched "Psycho" more than once), but even its most brutal acts pulse with inchoate sadness. – Jeannette Catsoulis, New York Times, Mar 30, 2017

Fresh: It's an atmospheric slow-burn that's heavy on moody insinuation and light on overt gotcha scares. – Chris Nashawaty, Entertainment Weekly, Mar 31, 2017

Fresh: Osgood Perkins impresses - and scares - with his chilly debut feature about young women and dark forces. – Joe Leydon, Variety, Sep 15, 2015

Rotten: The characters are too underdeveloped to leave an impression. – Chris Barton, Los Angeles Times, Oct 26, 2017

This movie is one of the best movies I've seen in all my years, the storyline of the movie was perfection and the setting was great as well. I just wish they made more movies similar to this one, but unfortunately they do not.

Fantastic movie.

Great performances, tone and atmosphere. Beautifully shot.

Its was ok. Nothing special. I love alllll movies, I am really not picky, but this one is one of those that you watch once and never again. Rent don't buy (like I did). Not that scary, eery for sure, but nothing special. Slow paced, acting was decent, very very predictable. Half way through I had already called the plot.... ehhhhh
