About the Movie

The Bourne Legacy takes the action-packed Bourne series to an explosive new level. On the verge of having their conspiracy exposed, members of the government’s intelligence community will stop at nothing to erase all evidence of their top secret programs – even the agents involved. Aaron Cross (Jeremy Renner) must use his genetically-engineered skills to survive the ultimate game of cat-and-mouse and finish what Jason Bourne started. Also starring Academy Award® winner Rachel Weisz and Academy Award® nominee Edward Norton, critics are calling this a "thrilling, edge-of-your-seat heart-pounder” (Meg Porter Berns, WSVN-TV (FOX), Miami).

Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: Renner and Weisz work well together as two hunted souls who initially need each other for utilitarian reasons. – Lisa Kennedy, Denver Post, Aug 10, 2012

Fresh: (Renner) has the required intensity and physicality to make his character-a highly-trained, genetically enhanced undercover agent-completely believable. – Leonard Maltin, indieWire, Aug 24, 2012

Rotten: The Bourne Legacy in no way honours the Bourne legacy. It is merely an exercise in brand maintenance until Damon feels like climbing down off his wallet to be Bourne again. – Leigh Paatsch, Herald Sun (Australia), Aug 16, 2012

Rotten: Where The Bourne Ultimatum was a lesson in how to construct a jargon-heavy, location-hopping, it-goes-all-the-way-up-to-the-top spy thriller, The Bourne Legacy is a lesson in how not to. – Leo Robson, Financial Times, Aug 16, 2012

Love this movie

This movie is awesome I can't wait to watch it

Well, I honestly expected better, but it wasn't so bad. Jeremy Renner marked his way to my list of favorite actors after 2010's epic film "The Town." He delivered exactly what I hoped he would. However the plot was somewhat weak, and I really do not know why. A lot was missing that I can't explain. For one, the ending was so rushed that I actually said at the end of my screening at the Deauville film festival; "What?! That's it?!" It was a decent film, but still it was no match whatsoever for Mat Damons franchise. Finally it was good, but could have been better....

Ehhh good I guess

I don't know how I feel about this movie. It was good I guess but it takes something away from the other three movies. In my opinion an "un-gentically" altered Jason Bourne was 10 times better than a genetically altered Aaron Cross. I was expecting more than a super agent spending most of the movie running around like an addict looking for his next fix. It's a good movie to buy if you like having series of movies but part of me wish I would have waited and rented it first.
