It isn’t long before they realize that this is no ordinary teapot, and that perhaps they have found the answer to all of their financial woes. Rotten: Without a human dimension to ground its construct, "The Brass Teapot" ultimately feels like an interminably stretched-out skit rather than a storybook lesson stained with blood and hurt.
Rotten: This dark comedy's clever premise is too thin to sustain its feature-length running time.
Rotten: Even The Twilight Zone would have struggled with the cutesy conceit of The Brass Teapot ...
Rotten: The Brass Teapot too often devolves into stale slapstick ...
Funny and thought provoking.
We got to see this months ago at a special showing. Haven't laughed so much at a movie in years. Also thought provoking - my wife and I discussed the "what if" premise for hours!
I saw this at the Toronto film festival. It is a really sweet funny movie... With violence. The main charaters have realistic chemistry and and the dialogs pulls you into their story. I really enjoyed the movie and I loved the way if felt as I walked out of the theatre. It is a great little indie movie to support.
