Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: The movie offers nothing funny, just a series of sour situations. – Mick LaSalle, San Francisco Chronicle, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: I don't know if The Break-Up qualifies as a date movie. But it will serve as a cautionary tale for couples falling in love. – Jack Mathews, New York Daily News, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: One seemingly terminal problem with the casting of Ms. Aniston and Mr. Vaughn is that neither of their careers has featured characters who excelled at one-to-one relationships with the opposite sex. – Andrew Sarris, New York Observer, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: With a movie unwilling to go for the jugular, it's more like the dismal The Story of Us than The War of the Roses. – Lou Lumenick, New York Post, Jun 24, 2010

dont believe the plot summary... don't believe the hype

Man, we thought this was going to be a funny break-up and make-up movie... wrong! it's a tear jerker without the happy ending NOR the comedy. Granted, there were funny parts for both lead actors, but this was not what it was presented to be. Boo.
