Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: An intriguing faith-based detective story in which an investigative reporter becomes a true believer.
Rotten: Give credit to the filmmakers for making a faith-affirming picture that aims to be more thoughtful than maudlin. But what they've ended up with is a fairly rote Christian redemption narrative - albeit with more charts and graphs.
Fresh: Based on Lee Strobel's best-selling book, this religious-themed drama earns points for proselytizing in more narratively compelling form than usual.
Rotten: This is profoundly silly Christian recruitment propaganda masquerading as newsroom drama.
Surprisingly Excellent Film
Many faith based films today are not very well done. Case for Christ is different. Regardless of your belief in God or lack of, this film will draw you in and keep you interesed from begining to end. The acting, from the lead to the supporting cast, is top notch. The story is one that all people will relate to in one way or another. It's not just about 1 mans journey to find peace. It touchs on every aspect of human relationships in a way that I've never seen on film. More importantly, it's entertaining from start to finish. I cared about each character, finding the performances to be completely genuine and authentic. I have to say I'm shocked at how much I enjoyed this film. Bravo to all involved.
This movie simply is meant for the believing masses. It won't convince anyone else of anything.
Excellent presentation and intriguing storyline.
Very good job for a faith-based skeptic -- this is a great movie!
