Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: Lampooning the simple-mindedness of utopian web cliches was arguably part of Mr. Eggers's point, but much of that point is often muddled in the book. And it's simply incoherent in the movie. – Glenn Kenny, New York Times, Apr 27, 2017

Rotten: It's so cartoony and ham-fisted it sabotages its own argument. – Chris Nashawaty, Entertainment Weekly, Apr 28, 2017

Rotten: The Circle feels dull, dated and ripped from yesterday's headlines. It flatlines while you're watching it. – Peter Travers, Rolling Stone, Apr 28, 2017

Rotten: The Circle has a polished, handsome surface, but it also looks as if it were designed by committee, like a fussed-over corporate logo. That would be OK, probably-if the movie at least knew what it was selling. – Stephanie Zacharek, TIME Magazine, Apr 27, 2017

Too close to reality

This movie gave us an insight at the dangers of social media and everyday devices that any day could be used against us.
I think it's a great movie and a great cast.

The Circle

This is a great movie with a great message about social media.

Terrible ending

Great concept, it really shows us how technology is taking over, however; the characters have little to no effect on the plot, Ty was underwhelming, and no epilogue was given. Something dramatic happened, and the movie just ended maybe 15 minutes after. The entire movie was creepy and eerie and led up to this dramatic scene and just left the audience hanging. With no idea how it all turned out. Not even Emma Watson, Tom Hanks, and the guy from The Force Awakens could make this movie good.
