About the Movie

In the northside of Dublin, Jimmy Rabbitte aspires to manage the world's greatest band, with only one music in mind: soul. By advertising for applicants in a newspaper and asking around to promising acquaintances, Jimmy holds auditions at his parents' home and assembles a band together. Unlike his idols, Jimmy's band is white. With the help of Joey "The Lips" Fagan, a veteran musician who answers the ad and joins the band and who has unlikely stories about meeting and working with famous musicians, Jimmy begins to whip the members into shape - gradually coming together beautifully onstage, only to have the group fall apart in a clash of egos.

Finally... The Committments has come to iTunes

Hands down the best movie about music, the music business, being in a band, and being a dreamer. Amazing to see this classic movie come out of hiding and get the placement it deserves in this new digital world.

Impossible not to enjoy

A time in Ireland and an era of music long gone. The James Brown segment, makes everything current "celebrity" acts have on video look weak, weak, weak in comparison. Excellent movie. Worth the money.

Glad I Found It

I am so glad I found this on iTunes. We loved this movie and had it on VHS Tape years ago in TV format, looking forward to the HD Widescreen viewing. Great Natural Talent on display. It's kind of off beat and really enjoyable to watch over and over again.
