Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: Ms. Walker doesn't go too deeply into the questions all this raises, but at least she broaches them. Are the sponsors of these athletes promoting recklessness by encouraging stars to push the limits? – Neil Genzlinger, New York Times, Dec 22, 2013

Fresh: Walker captures a seesaw exhilaration between the thrill of pushing one's limits and the pain of dreams cut short. – Robert Abele, Los Angeles Times, Jul 4, 2013

Fresh: The Crash Reel movingly captures the athlete's difficult acceptance of the fact that he can no longer practice the sport that made him a world champion. – Inkoo Kang, Village Voice, Dec 10, 2013

Fresh: Few documentaries manage to show character arcs as full as the one Walker captures here. – Ian Buckwalter, NPR, Dec 25, 2013

Way to Go!

Thank you for putting this movie out. I can't wait to watch it. So much respect for Kevin. Keep charging my man!

Amazing film

Phenomenal documentary, I am usually not a big documentary watcher, but i have watched this film 5+ times. This film was a game changer. It was real, emotional, and an amazing story. Both Kevin and his family are remarkable people.

Inspirational

As a speech language pathologist who works with individuals who have suffered traumatic brain injuries, I found this to be a wonderful depiction of how quickly life can be changed. It was heart wrenching and a extremely accurate depiction of the real-life struggles that not just the patient, but the family encounters along the journey of rehabilitation.
