Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: Several respectable actors offer dicey performances here, but Rappaport's screenplay is the real villain, expecting thin references to real-world financial peril to paper over gaping holes in credibility and plain-old drama.
Rotten: Too bad The Crash lives up to its inauspicious name.
Rotten: What is The Crash about? First off, it's about Mr. Rappaport's ability to get his film produced, and hats off to him for that, since it couldn't have made much sense on paper and hasn't grown in coherence on screen.
Rotten: These are all cartoon figures out of Frank Capra's most feverish populist nightmares.
I rented this hoping to see a well thought out story. Instead, its lacking in any credible financial or technical basis and has an overdone sappy back story. I disliked the camera work too. If you'd like to see an intelligent story on a really important subject, then don't waste your money on this, it'll disappoint.
Without me being crude and profane.
Without me being very crude and profane. I can sum this movie up as a Pay check film. There are some A to B list actors and actresses here and they are wasted. They are only here to pay bills. And the plot goes awry very quickly. So I'm giving it one star, because no star is not a option.
P.S. Maggie Q, Anna Robb Sophia and Minnie Driver my favorite actresses are in this film and under used.
I personally really enjoyed the film and am definitely recommending it to everyone I know!
