About the Movie
Christian Bale and director Christopher Nolan reunite following their blockbuster success with Batman Begins! This time, Heath Ledger joins the cast as The Joker, and Aaron Eckhart stars as Harvey Dent in an all-new adventure of The Dark Knight. With the help of Lieutenant Jim Gordon (Gary Oldman) and new district attorney Harvey Dent (Eckhart--Thank You for Smoking), Batman sets out to destroy organized crime in Gotham City forever. The three enjoy early success, but they soon find themselves prey to a rising criminal mastermind known as The Joker (Ledger--Brokeback Mountain), who throws Gotham into anarchy and forces Batman ever closer to crossing the line between hero and vigilante.

Fresh: An exceptionally smart, brooding picture with some terrific performances.
Fresh: Watching The Dark Knight is like gazing into a mirror on a waning moon night: chilling and mesmerizing.
Fresh: Christopher Nolan is much, much smarter than your average filmmaker.
Fresh: You will feel utterly numb after the screening of The Dark Knight. The film is bleak and brilliant.
BEST JOKER EVER
The one singular thing I loved more than anything about this film was Heath Ledger’s performance as The Joker. The one thing that touches me about his performance is that he was so into his character, he couldn’t get out, and so he became the Joker. He WAS the best Joker I’ve ever seen. I have great respect for Nicholson’s Joker as well, but for Nolan’s Batman, Ledger was the best. This film, all in all, was a great second chapter to the trilogy and it sits proudly in my iTunes film collection.
One of the best films ever made !
With Heath Ledger's portrayal of The Joker and the immersive plot of this movie it is easily the best superhero film ever made.
A true modern epic.
I've been a comic book fan/collector for over 20 years now and with all due respect to Tim Burton, this was the best interpretation of Batman ever made. This film doesn't just go above and beyond as a comic book movie, it shatters all expectations of an action/drama/thriller film in general. While DC Comics struggles to get their other characters a decent showing on the silver screen(excluding perhaps Man of Steel. I still don't understand the hate for this movie), their grim poster boy for justice got exactly what he deserved.
