About the Movie
There are an estimated 17 million women in the USA that have the fat disorder lipedema and don't know it. Filmmaker and patient Catherine Seo brings us on a journey of discovery, as she explores this misunderstood and commonly misdiagnosed disease.
This was a beautiful, honest, concise and insightful intro to lipedema in a clear easy to understand format! Thank you Catherine!
Helpful for those who suffer
This is a valuable resource for women who have struggled to lose weight all of their lives, and have disproportionate bodies, with the upper part smaller than the lower body. It gives hope, even though this is a progressive, incurable disease. Just having a name for it, and realizing that others suffer along with you, can be a help.
Great documentary on this physically and emotionally debilitating condition. I've had this condition for 30+ years and just found out about it at age 52. While it is reassuring to know that this is a disease that can be treated, it is discouraging that the most helpful treatment is not covered by insurance. Insurance companies need to be made aware that this is a real condition and needs to be covered. My legs feel so heavy I can barely make it up one flight of stairs and my toes are always numb. I hope that this documentary will encourage insurance companies to take a hard look at their policies as many cannot afford the treatment on their own.
