When the mother of his two-year-old son Isaac suddenly passes away, struggling actor Mark (played by writer/director Mark Webber) is forced to grapple with his ability to grow up. When he kindles a relationship with a young single mother (Shannyn Sossamon, "40 Days and 40 Nights"), he begins to realize that he can no longer remain in denial about the real-life consequences his choices have on Isaac (played by Webber's real-life son). Set against the backdrop of Los Angeles, "The End of Love" is an intimate and stunningly honest portrait of a young father in transition between the life he's been working for and the one that's waiting for him.

Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: Mr. Webber, a skilled actor, has not devised a narrative with sufficient momentum or tension to sustain much interest.
Rotten: Too often toddles over the fine line between cute and cloying before finding its footing in the final reel.
Fresh: "The End of Love" is an exceptionally intimate, human-scaled picture. It's also quite a special piece of work.
Fresh: Despite its flaws, however, the film is fueled by poignancy and an emotional rawness that's mostly understated and only rarely forced.
A huge fan of all of Mark Webber's work, this film doesnt fall behind the rest. Such a well told story and acted beautifully. His son is precious and the entire film is raw and fully effective.
An amazing raw, emotional, real film that left me completely awestruck. I've always been a huge fan of Mark Webber and to see him taking on such a real role is inspiring. The honesty is overwhelming and the bond between Mark and Isaac is incredible. Definitely a favorite of mine! :)
A beautiful film!
A very intimate and touching movie. A "cinema verite" feel touch by the innocence of a child! I loved it.
