Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: No gratuitous raunchiness here and only a few tired caricatures in a genre usually jammed with them.
Rotten: This teen romance proves perilously short on substance, insight and novelty, unless you count its characters being afflicted with a case of Juno mouth.
Rotten: There is much to like here, a sense of nuance and nonjudgmental emotional openness, yet Kasdan's teenage miniaturism never quite blooms.
Fresh: Something of a wonder, a palm-size ball of banter and irony and earnestness that never stops rolling and almost never misses the sweet spots.
not what i was expecting; in a good way
This movie really relates to teens. The main reason why I liked it was because it was honest and real. It was a legitimate plot that could happen in real life. Not everyone's first time is good (usually it isn't good at all) and this movie showed that. But it shows young love in a realistic way. Don't judge it based on the actors or trailer, watch it first. Most teens can relate to this honest film.
Lived up to expectations
It's a movie made for teens, about teens. It was entertaining and funny, and that's all I was looking for. Is it deep and insightful? No, but it doesn't sell itself to be. I enjoyed it, despite not being a teen anymore.
Fantastic lighthearted movie! The cast did a wonderful job. Unlike most other romantic comedies, this movie accurately touches upon some of the more awkward and difficult aspects of young love. I am a bit disappointed that this movie isn't getting more attention and would definitely encourage people to buy it.
