About the Movie

In remote Alaska, citizens have been mysteriously vanishing since the 1960s. Despite multiple FBI investigations, the truth behind the phenomena had never been discovered—until now. While videotaping therapy sessions with traumatized patients, psychologist Dr. Abigail Tyler (Milla Jovovich) unwittingly exposes terrifying revelations of multiple victims whose claims of being visited by alien figures all share disturbingly identical details. Based on actual case studies, The Fourth Kind uses Dr. Tyler’s never-before-seen archival footage alongside dramatic reenactments to present the most disturbing evidence ever documented in this provocative thriller critics are calling “terrifyingly real…The most shocking alien abduction movie to date.” –Tim Anderson, BLOODY-DISGUSTING.COM

Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: May be humorless, paranoid nonsense, but its biggest failure is its inability to scare. – Stephen Holden, New York Times, Nov 6, 2009

Rotten: You'd do better downloading an old Art Bell show -- say, the one about the guy who put an alien in his freezer -- than investigating this evidence of subnormal activity. – Richard Corliss, TIME Magazine, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: Writer-director Olatunde Osunsanmi attempts an Orson Welles-like confluence of "real" and imagined that might have worked had he gotten out of the way more, literally and figuratively. – Robert Abele, Los Angeles Times, Jul 7, 2010

Rotten: When the director divides the screen into quadrants for his big finish, the effect is just laughable -- but then by that point, the movie is too. – Ian Buckwalter, NPR, Jul 19, 2010

Better than Paranormal Activity

first off it was better than paranormal activity which came out just a few months before this movie did. it was better for these reasons, better story, better acting, and better effects. now i know pa had a certain time to film and had a short budget but still was nothing compared to this film. It wasn't the scariest film ive seen but surely was up there. Click [yes] if you agree, click [no] if you thought PARANORMAL ACTIVITY was better

The Fourth Kind: The Truth Is Out There

I read through all the responses of this movie and I was SHOCKED!!! I absolutely loved this movie and would recommend it to anyone who wanted to get the heeby-jeebys for two weeks straight. The acting was very good, and the real footage was, well...believable. Now you're thinking if I'm some loser who'll believe anything, right?
I strongly disbelieved any of this extra-terrestrial stuff until I saw this movie. The reason WHY people can't find an archive of Abigail Tyler is that they purposefully changed her name and everyone else's name in the movie because of privacy rights. Think people, think. It's not that hard to figure out.
Furthermore, people need to go into a movie with an open mind. I'm not hearing any "FAKE AND GAY" stuff about Paranormal Activity which is supposed to be "true" but in reality isn't. However, people have their opinions and can say anything they want, right? It's really up to you to decide if Fourth Kind footage was real or not, and when you do that's fantastic! Stop ragging on a well-made movie and get on with your lives.
I'm not saying this stuff is real or not, and personally I don't really know if it is or not--we'll probably never really know.
Kudos to the director, the cast, and "Abigail Tyler".

Hate it :(

It might be because I am a scardey cat but I was freaked out for months (I'm not lieing). I couldn't sleep without the light being on. To be honest I had to like recover. It probably changed my whole life just because I couldn't sleep and i was so scared. DO NOT WATCH if your a little scardey cat like me XD
